Fake Insurance Card Operation
Hialeah Police Deaprtment
On September 28, 2011 Hialeah Police Dept. conducted a Fake Insurance Card Operation with the assistance of NICB, Allstate, Direct, Esurance, Gainsco, GEICO, GMAC, Infinity, Kingsway Amigo, Mercury, MetLife, Nationwide, Sentry, Star Casualty, State Farm, Travelers and United Auto. The operation focused on people with bogus licenses and uninsured motorists. There were 13 arrests as a direct result of this operation, 268 traffic stops within 5 hours, 228 citations issued and a recovered stolen vehicle. |

On March 31, 2011, The Miami Gardens Police Department, in conjunction with The National Insurance Crime Bureau, FL Dept. Of Financial Services (FDFS), local Police agencies and the following insurance companies, conducted a fraudulent insurance card sweep:
Allstate, Direct General, Gainsco, Geico, Infinity, Mercury Insurance, Nationwide, Sentry, Star Casualty, State Farm, Travelers and United Auto.
During the course of the operation one driver was arrested for presenting a fictitious insurance card and many other criminal traffic citations were issued. |

Broward County Sheriff's Office and National Insurance Crime Bureau - On February 9, 2011 The Broward County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the National Insurance Crime Bureau and 17 Insurance Companies conducted a bogus insurance card operation. The operation was a success included all of their districts and outside municipals which grabbed the the local media's attention.

FHP And National Insurance Crime Bureau - On September 3, 2010 The Florida Highway Patrol in conjunction with the National Insurance Crime Bureau and several Insurance Companies conducted a bogus insurance card operation. The operation was a success and included the Monroe and Dade counties.

| City of Miami Police Department along with the NICB South Florida Medical Fraud Task Force implemented “Operation Cross-City”. - On June 17, 2010 the City of Miami Police Department along with the NICB South Florida Medical Fraud Task Force implemented “Operation Cross-City”. The purpose of this operation was to reduce insurance fraud by means of traffic infraction stops where officers verified the insurance coverage provided was current and valid. In addition, there were 15 insurance company representatives present Allstate, State Farm, Mercury, Geico, Kingsway Amigo, United Auto, Redland, Star Casualty, Farmers, Infinity, Esurance, Direct General, Seminole, Met-Life and GMAC. This operation was a success as there were 80 searches conducted for fraudulent insurance cards, 35 citations issued for expired insurance cards and 2 arrests for presenting bogus insurance cards. |

Click It Or Ticket It & Insurance Card Operation - On May 20th, 2010 the Medley Police Department along with other Law Enforcement agencies in cooperation with the NICB South Florida Medical Fraud Task Force conducted an enforcement of Click it or Ticket It & Insurance Card Operation. Also on hand to assist Law Enforcement were 9 member companies which consisted of Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, Infinity, Kingsway Amigo, Mercury, Star Casualty, State Farm and United Automobile. This operation was conducted in the municipalities of Medley, Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, Doral, Virginia Gardens and Miami Springs. The following Police Agencies participated in the operation Aventura, Doral, F.D.O.T, F.E.C, F.H.P, Florida City, Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, Miami Beach, Miami-Dade, Miami Gardens, Miami Springs, National Safety Commission, North Miami, Opa Locka, South Miami, Sweetwater, Virginia Gardens and West Miami. There were 7 arrests and 646 traffic summons issued. |
